GUIDELINES

Rag & Bone has rules that are not hard to follow, like every other site we have restrictions to what you can and cannot do. Not following the rules will result in warnings and or bans from the forums. If you have any ideas or rules you would like to had, or you'd like to clarify a rule, please contact a staff member or post in the Support Center forum.

01.REGISTRATION. On R&B, each character has their own separate account. This means that you have to post with that character's account to roleplay with that character. One account for multiple characters will not be accepted. All members of Rag & Bone must be of 13 years of age or older due to the content of the forum as well as the rules of Forumotion, the forum's host.
When you register your account, you must register in this format: First Last. An example is: Katniss Everdeen. Any variations of this will also not be accepted. All accounts must have separate e-mails, and the system will tell you if the e-mail is already being used. If you're having trouble registering, ask a member in the C-box and they can gladly help you.
02.CHARACTER CREATION. When you create your character, please try not to use the same name as someone else already registered on the forum. We don't need a Sarah in every District. When posting your application, you must use the APPLICATION FORM, and fill it out correctly. The Application's header is in all caps for a reason, don't change or modify any of the code or you will be asked to change it. You also must post your Application in the correct forum.

COMPLETE: This forum is for applications that will be completed when they are first posted.
INCOMPLETE: This forum is for applications that will be completed within time. If you post your application here, reply to it when you are done. You must complete your application within 10 days or it will be archived.

After your application is reviewed, if it needs some work done do it, it will be moved to Pending. This means that you must make some changes to your application before it can be accepted. Once your application is accepted, it is moved to the Panem Files, based upon Membergroup. You can read about other characters in the Files as well.
03.ROLEPLAYING. Rag & Bone does not have a Word Count, however we do value Quality over Quantity, meaning your posts will be held to a certain standard. This is especially in the Hunger Games if your character becomes a Tribute. Let's give you an example:

Okay so your character are in the Hunger Games, and he and someone else are fighting...

Quote :

Peeta felt his head get hit. It hurt. He then threw a punch.

This is nice and short and sweet, yeah? However, you can be WAY more specific, and give background story.

Quote :

After Cato knocked Peeta upside the head with the hammer, he felt his head throw back, and then he became furious. He had to win this for Katniss. Now that she was dead, he knew that she would want him, and only him to win. He saw Cato smiling menacely, and with all his might, he swung his fist for Cato's throat.

Do you understand what we're saying? Good. :DThis post isn't that long either, however it is acceptable! Keep in mind you don't have to type us a whole book!

Also, you are not allowed to god-mod other characters. This is controlling them without their permission. An example of this:

Quote :

...When Cato moved out of the way, he slipped and fell and Peeta could now attack...

Now we're saying that Cato never moved and slipped, however if this really did happen (the roleplayer said so), then you are repeating what happened.
04.CHATBOX. R&B's Chatbox is located on the left sidebar. You can register for the C-Box, and then go to the Options Tab, to add an avatar using Gravatar (which you must have an account on to have an avatar). Avatars are 80x80. Keep it PG-13
05.OOC CONDUCT. Out of Character, we are like one big huge family. So lets keep the drama in-character. Try not to make each other mad, just chat and have fun. Also, keep language toned down a bit, you can use profanity, just not too much.
06.GRAPHICS. All graphics should be appropriate. No nudity, or offensive terms. All avatars should be 200x400 (not 200x300 anymore!), and all signatures should be no larger than 500x300. Also, buttons are allowed, but not too many!

VICTORS

Victors are the winners of Hunger Games. These characters are considered to be Canons. There are Victors from the 5th Hunger Games, on up. Essentially, 20 Victors to play. If you want to play a Victor from the 1st through the 4th Hunger Games, PM an Administrator please. To play a Victor you must:

-Have a reapable (12-18 in the Districts), that has 15 posts.

Once you begin playing a Victor, you must be Active. If you are not, your Victor will be taken from you. A member can only play one Victor. You may not change any of the information given except the Name of the Victor.

Rag & Bone has just a few rules when it comes to claiming a face.

1. Only Twins can have the same face. It isn't realistic for there to be triplets in Panem anyway, at least in the Districts.
2. The rule of thumb is that your Face Claim should be in the range of 5 years of age above or below your character. However, 18 year olds cannot play 14 year old characters. If you think you have a face that doesn't follow this rule for your specific character, but looks like they could play the age, PM a staff member.
3. Only singers, songwriters, actors, musicians, producers, the famous people. None of your friends, or pornstars, etc.
4. Reserves last 10 days. Then the face will be released from your reserve if you don't post an application and claim it.

PLOT

Rag & Bone bases the plot on the book, collecting information and creating a Panem before the series beginning at the 25th Hunger Games, the first Quarter Quell.

Years ago, a country once known as the United States of America became a dystopian nation known as Panem in which the surrounding Districts of the Capitol must supply it with its needs. After a rebellion in the 13th District against the Capitol, District 13 was destroyed. As payment for this, each year the twelve remaining Districts of Panem must offer up tribute. One young man and one young woman will be selected at random at a public Reaping. They will then be delievered to the custody of the Capitol to undergo training and enter an Arena where they, now known as Tributes will fight to the death until one lone Tribute remains. The remaining Tribute, then crowned a Victor, will be bathed in riches, and serve as a reminder to the Districts of the Capitol's dominating power over them. This pageant will now and forever be known as the Hunger Games.

MISSION

STATEMENT

Rag & Bone RP focuses on character and plot development. R&B hopes to not only help improve writing but have fun in Suzanne Collins' world while doing so by holding a Hunger Games, but along with that mini-events and using small sub-plots to make the forum more interesting. R&B strives to be a loving and welcoming community, becoming family-like to ensure all of the members have a wonderful roleplaying experience on Rag & Bone.

PANEM GUIDE

Rag & Bone is set before the book series of The Hunger Games. Therefore, some things from the books are different here on R&B. This thread is a Guide to Panem, which tells about each District, what it's like to live there, and more.


THE CAPITOL

The Capitol is the reigning city over the Districts. In the Capitol, the majority of the Capitolites have no worries, and no care in the world. They usually like the Hunger Games, and influence it's outcomes with their Sponsorships and Bets on Tributes. The Capitol also has three classes:

UPPER CLASS: They have the most money, and don't ever have to worry about getting paid on time.
MIDDLE CLASS: They get by, and don't really have little money, but not a lot either.
LOWER CLASS: They worry all the time about what they're going to eat, do, drink, and how they're going to live.

The Capitol isn't all rich and famous people.

THE UPPER DISTRICTS
The Upper Districts have an abundance of money compared to the other Districts (with the exception of District Three). Two of these Districts are Career Districts. The Upper Districts Include Districts One, Two, and Three.


DISTRICT ONE

District One is considered to be the richest District in Panem. Their industry is Luxury. They provide some of the move expensive items to the Capitol. Their inhabitants live in homes that are considered a miracle to the Lower Districts if they even ever see one. Their Tributes are Careers, and often team with District Two and Four during the Games to kill off other Tributes.

OCCUPATION IDEAS Model, Gold Miner, Silver Miner, Blacksmith, Teacher, Career, Career Trainer, Student


DISTRICT TWO

District Two is one of the wealthier Districts of Panem. Their trade is Masonry. They build things for the Capitol. Inhabitants in this District live in very nice homes. This is also the District where most Peacekeepers come from, and this District is particularly favored by the Capitol itself. Two's Tributes are Careers, and often team up with District One and District Four to kill off other Tributes during the Games.

DISTRICT THREE

District Three has some sort of wealth. Their industry is Technology, and they provide the Capitol with the majority of blueprints and such things for ideas for new computers, cellphones, data collectors, and even some things for the Hunger Games. This District doesn't often win the Hunger Games, but when they do, it is most likely because their Tributes have an advantage in Capitol Technology.

THE UPPER-MIDDLE

DISTRICTS
The Upper-Middle Districts have an amount of money that is a little less than the Upper Districts.


DISTRICT FOUR

District Four, despite being a Career District, isn't that wealthy. Their industry is Fishing. They provide seafood, as well as seashells and other various items from the ocean to the Capitol. Their Tributes are Careers and usually team with District One and District Two to kill off other Tributes during the Games. Their District has an advantage of being able to swim, and hold their breath for long periods of time, which helps them during the Games.

DISTRICT FIVE

District Five is known for Power. They run the Power Plants that power all of Panem's electricity. They are a middle-class District. Their Tributes have an advantage of Engineering, and Technology. However, their Tributes usually do not win the Games, but when they do it's usually because of their advantage.

DISTRICT SIX

District Six is the industry of Transportation. They usually create the hovercrafts, airplanes, trains, and other vehicles of Transportation for the Capitol. Their Tributes have an advantage of Engineering. Their people work long hours in the warehouses. Their Tributes usually do not win the Games.

THE LOWER-MIDDLE

DISTRICTS
The Lower-Middle Districts have a substantial amount of money, just to get them by.


DISTRICT SEVEN

District Seven is the first of the Lower-Middle Districts. Their industry is Lumber. Their inhabitants tend to be very strong because they have to carry heavy parts of trees. Also, they live in substantial homes. District Seven has a couple wins for the Games.

OCCUPATION IDEAS Lumberjack, Woodsman, Worker, Wood Developer, Student, Teacher


DISTRICT EIGHT

District Eight is considered to be one of the poorest Districts in Panem. Their District is known to smell of their factory's fumes. Their industry is Textiles. Their inhabitants are known to be very fashionable, and know how to put good-looking outfits together. They work long hours in their factory. Their Tributes usually do not win the Games.

OCCUPATION IDEAS Seamstress, Seamstress' Assistant, Fashion Enthusiast, Factory Worker, Student, Teacher


DISTRICT NINE

District Nine is considered to be one of the poorer Districts of Panem. Their industry is Grain. They provide the Capitol with processed Grains for bread and the like. Their inhabitants work long hours in their factory. Their Tributes usually do not win the Games.

THE LOWER

DISTRICTS
The Lower Districts have little to no money, and rarely eat.


DISTRICT TEN

District Ten is the industry of Livestock. They provide the Capitol with beef, pork, chicken, and turkey products. Their inhabitants are very poor with little to eat. They work and maybe even live on farms where they take care of animals before they have to kill them. Their factory smells of animal scraps and blood. Their Tributes usually do not win the Games.

DISTRICT ELEVEN

District Eleven is the second poorest District in Panem. Their industry is Agriculture. They provide the Capitol with the freshest of fruit and vegetables. Their people however rarely have anything to eat, and often have to steal from the Orchard or Garden to have a meal. Their Tributes don't usually win the Games.

DISTRICT TWELVE

District Twelve is considered to be the poorest District in Panem. Their industry is Coal Mining. Their inhabitants start mine work at age 18, and their people have little to no money at all, and are usually looking for food to eat. Their Tributes usually do not win the Games.

The 25th Fall Hunger Games is the second Hunger Games of 25 ADD. This Hunger Games has a Quell of Teams. Tributes instead aren't separated by District, but by Team for this Games' Tribute List.

The Victory Tour is the last phase of the Hunger Games within the Districts. The 25th Spring Hunger Games Victor, NAME HERE, won this Hunger Games for their District, #, at age ##. The Tributes that died from this District's faces are showing on large display screens in the District's Town Square. Their family is standing on a platform in front of the screen. This thread is open to all residents of the District, including Peacekeepers and Avoxes. As well as the Victor to do their Victory Speech. This Victor is also our first Victor to win a Games that was Member-Played. They have been added to our new and improved Victors List here.

TERMINOLOGY

These are common terms used in our world, so just so you know what they are, we've come up with a list and their definitions.

1. Tessera: A family's meager supply of oil and food; Children eligible for the Reaping can claim Tesserae, in exchange for their name being put in more times in the Reaping than the usual requirement.
2. The Reaping:
A. The event that introduces each Hunger Games' Tributes.
B. Each child gets their name placed into the Reaping however many times based upon their age and amount of Tesserae they have claimed.
3. Escort: The resident from the Capitol that announces the Reaping Results, and who stays with the Tributes during their time at the Capitol, as a Capitol Representative. Each Escort is designated a District.
4. Quarter Quell: Each Quarter Quell, the Gamemakers add a special rule or twist to the Games. Our Quells:

1. The 25th Hunger Games was split into two separate Games, doubling the amount of deaths and Tributes.

25th Spring Hunger Games: Commonly known as the 25th Hunger Games Part A, the 25th Spring Hunger Games had two distinct Quells:
- There was no solid food to be found in the Arena. The only thing was water.
- The Tributes had to kill other Tributes in order to receive items from their sponsors.

25th Fall Hunger Games: Commonly known as the 25th Hunger Games Part B, the 26th Fall Hunger Games had two distinct Quells:

5. Tribute: A child that fights in the Hunger Games.
6. The Arena: The uncharted place in which Tributes fight. The Arena is different each year and is created by Gamemakers.
7. Gamemaker: One who is one of the main persons who helps in the creating of the Games. They also keep track of what's going on, and make sure everything runs as smooth as possible
